Students struggling to memorize multiplication facts–when they really don’t even understand what multiplication IS?
Having to hunt for organized multiplication fact activities that are engaging, low-prep, and actually work?
Not knowing where to focus your energy (and your students’ energy!) because you aren’t sure what they know and what they don’t know?
* Your students don’t have their multiplication facts memorized–and they don’t even seem to really understand the concept of multiplication.
* Not only that, but your curriculum is PACKED, so you aren’t sure how you will ever find the time to work in these critical multiplication activities.
* You KNOW that having fact fluency makes upcoming skills so much easier, but you know rote memorization is not the solution.
* Your curriculum and math program simply do not give you enough support when it comes to teaching and reinforcing multiplication fact fluency.
It’s funny. I’ve been teaching a really long time–more than thirty years in grades 2, 3, 4, and 6. During that period of time, I’ve NEVER had a class where I thought, “Man, ALL of these students already know their facts. What will I do now?”
Fact fluency has always been a topic of debate. I’ll be honest–I’ve even wrestled with it myself. SHOULD students have to learn their facts? How fast should they be? I think we can all agree–when they know them well, the rest of their math “lives” are so much better.
The question is really HOW should they learn these facts. I have the answer–and it’s all based on multiplication strategies. Read on and see what I mean!

“Fantastic. Holds the interest of my stronger students while also meeting the needs of those who are working at a lower level and really needed a quality resource to develop a better understanding of the content.”
Rachael

It is chock-full of visual, meaningful activities that I know will truly help my students understand and retain these facts. Thank you for creating such an informative, engaging resource for upper-elementary students who still need support in this area.”
