4th Grade Illustrative Math™ Unit 8 – Classifying Triangles & Quadrilaterals

$4.50

Description

Give your students the extra practice they need with this Grade 4 Unit 8 Practice Book designed to align with Illustrative Math® or any 4th grade math curriculum covering classifying triangles, classifying quadrilaterals, and symmetry. It also includes spiral review for fractions and multi-digit computation for all four operations!

This resource is perfect for teachers who love the rich instructional experiences in Illustrative Math® but want additional, streamlined practice opportunities for homework, centers, intervention groups, or quick skill checks. It’s also great for teachers using other math programs who want focused practice on these critical math skills. It’s a great way to build in review or provide easy, focused practice!

It’s a great homework packet for ANY 4th grade teacher wanting no-prep, easy-to-follow review work! These topics are tricky and new for many students–most students have never used a protractor before! This practice packet gives many additional opportunities to refine the important skills such as:

  • classifying shapes by sides and angles
  • identifying parallel and perpendicular lines in figures
  • identifying and drawing lines of symmetry
  • identifying and measuring angles (review)
  • solving perimeter problems

In addition, multi-digit addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division need lots and lots of practice problems to build fluency and automaticity so additional practice pages are included. Also a part of this packet are review pages with decimals, fractions, and angle work to help keep these concepts fresh in students’ minds.

Most teachers don’t want 100 practice pages on a given topic–they simply want a little bit more to help them ensure their students can master the skill! That’s what I’ve created…just a little bit more at a very accessible price.

What’s Included:

  • 28 half-sheet practice activities (low-ink, no-frills format)
  • Beginning and end-of-unit student self-assessments for reflection and progress tracking
  • Challenge problems sprinkled throughout for students ready for an extra push
  • Fluency work throughout–both to review earlier taught fraction skills but also extra addition/subtraction and multiplication/division computation–the continuation of a spiral review for the year.
  • Full answer keys
  • A table of contents that helps you know exactly what is covered on each page
  • Two cover options (one that mentions Illustrative Math® and one that does not)

Why Teachers Will Love It:

  • Ready-to-use, no prep required
  • Perfect for homework, bell ringers, centers, intervention groups, or partner review
  • Provides review problems to support key 4th grade geometry skills, including plenty of practice with essential algorithms
  • Directions are simple and answers are included!

Parents–if YOU feel you need a little “something” to help your CHILD with these concepts–this is perfect for you as well!

Whether you need quick practice pages, homework options, or intervention materials, this packet provides flexible support to help your students build fluency and confidence. Interest has been strong, so now Grade 4–Units 1-8 have been completed (because Unit 9 is all application, I’ve elected to not make a practice book for that one), and then grades 3 and 5 will follow.
