Description
There may be times when you don’t like your homework or independent practice options and are looking for work that naturally differentiates. One thing that frustrates families when trying to do math homework is that they don’t know WHAT to do. This resource gives you FIVE different activities that students and families can “learn” and can be applied to nearly any concept you are teaching.
Each of the 5 activities comes with many preprinted, ready to use practice sheets—but each of them ALSO comes with a blank page for you to customize them to your teaching, your students, and their needs. The content of the preprinted sheets is geared toward 4th grade, but a majority of the pages could be used both in 3rd or 5th as well.
The beauty of the “open ended” quality of these is that students can work at their own level and show their level of sophistication. Make sure to download the preview to see a few pages of each of the 5 types of activities. More than 100 pages are included for you to use all year long!
How can I use it? Here are a few suggestions!
- As homework—either whole class or to differentiate. These are GREAT to use for students who might need a “replacement” homework sheet if they are not ready for the standard work.
- As independent or partner work in math workshop or guided math.
- As quick formative assessments
- As a math class “starter”—have students work for 5 minutes on a task and then share in small groups or as a whole class.
…get creative! The possibilities are endless!
