Description
Punctuating dialogue is a very tricky concept for intermediate students to master, and this resource is the perfect one-day writing lesson to kick things off your work with writing dialogue.
It is meant to show the importance of teaching dialogue in both reading and writing–and gives students exposure to how and why it is written.
The activity included is hands-on, low prep, low ink, and ready to use! Who knew you could use “manipulatives” to teach writing!
This is perfect to use as a first experience with dialogue or as a review before teaching a narrative writing unit or realistic fiction reading unit.
There are three full pages of directions including:
- Full color photos of the resource in action
- Ideas for anchor charts are included
- All reproducible pages needed to do the activity including the manipulative pieces and a practice page
- Even a blank page for you to extend the learning by creating your own sentences or having your students do it!
